Tally Ho has a new owner with a convincing plan for her restoration. As of 30th May 2017 the yacht Tally Ho now has a new owner who is arranging to have her moved from Port of Brookings Harbour to the Port Townsend area where the new owner will shortly commence restoration. Hello all, A very brief update. It looks very much at present that we have a good outcome for Tally Ho. Well, excellent outcome I think. There remain a couple of small hurdles and we could fall at them, but the odds look very good indeed. We'll make a more formal announcement in few further days. Well done everyone who helped. Please keep your fingers crossed for this last little bit of completing the agreement and getting her to her new home for restoration. We expect to be able to follow that restoration in some detail. Gordon.

Although our fundraising raised less than we'd hoped, that was always a risk with JustGiving, where the money comes to us whether or not we succeed. I had originally planned that JustGiving should be a short-term option to get us started and that within a week or two we would change over to a more typical all-or-nothing scheme with rewards available. A couple of accidents along the way spoiled that particular plan. C'ést la Vie. The campaign is much larger, though, than just the task to raise some money for the immediate rescue from oblivion.

Half Model of Tally Ho at the Royal Thames Yacht Club Jamie Clay was at the Royal Thames Yacht Club for the Classic Boat Awards for his restoration of Albert Strange's Charmina, and noticed on the wall of the club a half model of Tally Ho (Originally Betty ... see the history on her website https://www.yachttallyho.com/index.php/about-tally-ho). and took a couple of photos. We don't know what colours she was in the early days. I wonder if these are indicative. It was 107 years ago, so I suspect not. http://www.jamieclayboatbuilding.co.uk/

We've certainly made some progress over the past couple of weeks. The website is now reasonably sorted out, though we'll continue to work on it. We have a Facebook page and a JustGiving page. The latter has so far raised £710, which is brilliant, but of course we still have a long very way to go. I have tried to make contact with some people who may support our mission, and I have others I plan to contact. So far, Sir Robin Knox-Johnston has offered encouragement, and hopefully his interest will encourage others. I post periodically on Facebook and am looking around the Web for Tally-Ho related information. For example, I know that Tally Ho's first engine was a three-cylinder Smart & Brown paraffin engine, and her second, by Kelvin, a two-cylinder paraffin engine, possibly rather like this.
